A couple of weeks ago, Jaylin packed up Honeygirl and climbed aboard a jet plane heading to El Paso, Texas. She travels there several times a year, and, during this trip, she stopped by Stallion Boot Company and our very own Planet Cowboy factory. As soon as the pair touched down, Honeygirl felt right at home. Not only did the balmy weather afford her the opportunity to engage in one of her favorite activities (basking in the sun), but the El Paso Airport’s latest exhibition featured lots of chihuahua art!
If you’ve ever wondered about the life of a boot, theses trips are where it all begins. Jaylin recently purchased some gorgeous skins from Kelly-Larson that sparked creative inspiration for the designs for two custom men’s boots. Just to tease y’all a little bit, one is being crafted with a dark grey nubuck shaft and a foot from specially tanned, extremely high-grade, one-of-a-kind ostrich. Betcha cowboys can’t wait for these beauties!
And ladies, don’t despair! The women’s line got some lovin’ in El Paso as well. Stay tuned for a zorro boot crafted from this stunning Mad Dog Denim ostrich:
The image shows the pattern being drawn onto the skin, which will later be hand-cut into individual boot pieces. Eventually, this leather will be lasted like this:
After hanging at Stallion, Jaylin headed over to the Planet Cowboy factory. There she perform her usual quality control check (cuz we want y’all to be happy, satisfied customers!), and got a progress report about a custom-order lizard western boot.

Jaylin also set in motion the manufacturing of a women’s Planet Cowboy full ostrich quill boot, which will also be available as part of Space Cowboy’s Fall 2016 line.
All in all, a very productive trip for Space Cowboy’s head honchette!
